In response to the proliferation of data, devices, sensors and connectivity that leads to overwhelming and cluttered file systems. As a complement to the strained desktop/file folder metaphor that dominates the digital world today, Origin organizes data based on contextual markers such as location, persons present, related data and a myriad of other markers available.
In response to the 2011 Microsoft Design Expo theme: “Get Connected, Stay Connected,” Origin is the product of a quarter-long engagement in which students were asked to form interdisciplinary teams, consider real human needs, and respond with a user experience prototype and presentation that communicates their design solution.

Working Corps is a traveling event, a movement, and a website intended to increase awareness and appreciation of real jobs. We hope this information will inform the next generation of the variety of jobs in the real world and their hidden stories. We chose mini figures to represent career opportunities, as they are a low barrier way for people to share their stories, as well as create an enticing point of reference for kids browsing potential jobs.
