In response to the 2012 Microsoft Design Expo theme: “Information In My World,” Ambient Health is the product of a quarter-long engagement in which students were asked to form interdisciplinary teams, consider real human needs, and respond with a user experience prototype and presentation that communicates their design solution.
An exercise in Service Design, at the heart of Ambient Health is a cloud-based application that bridges the gap between doctors, patients, clinical records, and personal contextual data. Ambient Health promotes preventative healthcare while bringing to our current system of curative healthcare all of the benefits of the information age.

This project explores the issue of personal connection to local community. Our team set out to create an application that would provide opportunities for individuals to get involved with their personally-defined “ground.” In addition, we wanted to encourage individuals to continually engage and build relationships with others in their “common ground.”
This experimental smart table records and displays how much beer everyone is drinking, as well as deciding who has to spring for the next pitcher.
